T O P I C R E V I E Wamelia28Ok so I am learning about Yods (I have a composite Yod) and I am super hooked which led me to come accross duets...Book about Yods: http://books.google.com/books?id=0WryjJC_FQIC&pg=PA158&lpg=PA158&dq=composite+yods&source=bl&ots=D-47eKYT1z&sig=nhNPTb2K7ArqsycPw50YeR-rIZY&hl=en&sa=X&ei=iKSXU-zfGompsAS36oHo Aw&ved =0CB8Q6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=composite%20yods&f=falseDoux RêveOops, link fail!No idea about duet; hopefully someone else will chime in cause I'm exhausted right now.amelia28I have tried looking it up.....and this is the only thing I could find:"and planets in duet (that only aspect each other)"so two planets that only form aspects to each-other.........Interesting..yellowelevatorThat is so funny you posted this, I'm literally reading this book right now to get a better understanding of my own YOD haha. Funnier thing is, last night when I was reading before I went to sleep I read the part in the book where the author describes what a Duet is:"A duet, in the musical sense, requires two participants who play music together. In astrology, too, we have a so-called duet: two planets that "dance" together, exclusively with each other, apart from other planets. This is the case whenever two planets only aspect each other, and neither creates a major aspect with any other planet. It is possible that one of the two or both form an aspect with the MC or the Ascendant, but as we have seen, this does not count when judging unaspectedness. So we have two planets that are involved only with each other, and stand apart from the rest of the horoscope. This is what we call a duet. An "unaspected planet" in fact. Practice teaches that both planets will behave as if they were unaspected. So they each bear the previously mentioned hallmarks of unaspected planets, and aside from this we can also see the influence of each on the other. A duet can be linked by any aspect, so it doesn't matter if it is a trine, a square, or a conjunction, to name just a few. What's important is that neither planet creates any aspects to any other planet." - Karen Hamaker-Zondagamelia28 quote:Originally posted by yellowelevator:That is so funny you posted this, I'm literally reading this book right now to get a better understanding of my own YOD haha. Dancing MaenadI have a duet in my natal chart. Venus conjunct Chiron and they don't aspect any other planet, but they both trine Asc and oppose MC. My career is representative for this bond and perhaps my looks also (Cinderella?
